PARLIAMENTARIA, Jakarta – With the two countries marking 65 years of diplomatic relations,  Japan has significant roles in supporting numerous  strategis projects in Indonesia.

In this regard, the Japanese Prime Minister Candidate, Mr. Motegi, initiated to visit the Indonesian Parliament to explore various potential areas of cooperation that the two countries can offer. Members of the House Muhammad Farhan and Charles Meikyansah also joined the meeting.

"We discuss the continuation of cooperation to boost economic growth between Indonesia and Japan. As we know, Japan has cutting-edge technology and skilled human resources. We have a good market, abundant workforce, and other natural resources. If we can integrate these strengths, the result will be extraordinary." Gobel said to Parlementaria at the Parliamentary Complex on Monday (29/07/2024).

The meeting also discussed the opportunities to develop start-up companies and human resources in Indonesia. “We also discussed education, the development of human resources, for the Indonesian people, especially how to encourage Indonesian students, including workers, to study in Japan,” added the legislator from the Gorontalo electoral district.

Moreover, Muhammad Farhan, a Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, also touched on investment opportunities in developing a railway transportation network in the Bandung area, West Java.

"Bandung now needs an integrated public transportation solution. One that really needs investment from Japan is the construction of a railway network, both trains for commuters traveling from west to east and LRT for Greater Bandung covering Bandung City, Bandung Regency, and Sumedang Regency, especially Jatinangor, which houses major universities," explained the legislator for the Region I of West Java electoral district.
