Indonesian House Promotes Creative Industry

Indonesia should use the momentum of hosting the 4th MIKTA Speakers' Consultation as an opportunity to promote Indonesia’s creative industry products to the global market, so that it could encourage partnership between Indonesian creative workers andthe local craftmans could seek beneficial cooperation with other countries’ businesspeople, said Vice Chairperson of Committee for Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation (BKSAP), Fadel Muhammad. 

 

“Regarding creative economy which is now accelerating, we need to penetrate Korea, Turkey, Mexico, and Australia markets. We endorse thatare pushing them to do so,” Fadel said after a MIKTA meeting at the Istana Tampak Siring Presidential Palace, Bali, on Sunday (16/9) September 2018. 

 

The Golkar Party politician said that the MIKTA was significantly beneficial for the Indonesian sustainabilty in the future, especially in easing exporting products to several countries. “The MIKTA is very beneficial for Indonesia. We have talked a lot about various issues with Mexico, Korea, Turkey, and Australia. We talked about topics this nation needs to maintain development,” Fadel said. 

 

Creative industry becomes one of the key issues at the current MIKTA meeting. This is an opportunity for Indonesia to deepen cooperation which is now running smoothly. To develop creative industry, Indonesia, as the coordinator of the 2018 MIKTA, will focus on the theme ofraises a topic of 'Fostering Creative Economy and Contributing to Global Peace' as a theme in every MIKTA meetings and cooperation. Under the same theme, Indonesia had already held 'MIKTA Experts’ Meeting on Inclusive Digital Economy Hub' and 'MIKTA Start-Up Fest'. (Tim/mut)
