House Monitoring Team Expects Covid-19 Task Force to Expand Rapid Testing
The House’ Monitoring Team on Disaster Management held a virtual meeting with the Covid-19 Task Force Chief, Doni Monardo, discussing coordination on the effort to handle Covid-19’, Thursday (16/4/2020). A Vice Speaker of the House who is also the Head of the Monitoring Team Muhaimin Iskandar expected the Task Force Chief to accelerate and expand rapid testing or PCR testing.
The efforts were necessary to figure out the number of people contracted with Covid-19 and isolate those who tested positive to cut the chain of the virus transmission. The team also called on the task force to engage private hospitals in treating the increasing number of Covid-19 patients and to make sure that the medical personnel wear WHO standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Furthermore, the team called on the task force to step up coordination efforts with relevant state ministries/institutions and local governments to ensure policies taken by the central government would be integrated and followed by local governments.
On the other hand, the House’s Monitoring Team on Disaster Management reminded the Task Force Chief to Accelerate Handling of Covid-19 to ensure that people who are vulnerable and affected by Covid-19’s handling policies would receive compensation quickly before the coming of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1441 H.
No less important, the team called on the Task Force to continue encouraging all elements of the nation, starting from community leaders, religious leaders, community organization leaders, to social institutions to disseminate healthy living, implement WHO health protocols and reassure the public who refuse the funeral of people with Covid-19.
At the end of the meeting, the team asked the Task Force to submit written answers and required information as not all questions were answered.

Kady and Dewi Asmara of the Golkar Party; Sodik Mudjahid of the Gerindra Party Lisda Hendrajoni of the National Democrat Party; Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal of the National Awakening Party; Nurhayati Monoarfa of the United Development Party; Ali Taher of the National Mandate Party and Guntur Sasono of Democrat Party were among the MPs of the Monitoring Team on Disaster Management who attended the virtual meeting.
