Member of the Budget Committee Mukhtarudin appreciated the work of the government that has worked hard to restore the national economy, including in the context of handling the Covid-19 problem. Judging from the general parameters in all ministries, according to him, the national economic recovery program is on track and in line with expectations.
"We notice that the general parameters of all Coordinating Ministers, economically, our economic growth in the first quarter of 2021 has shown a good figure, meaning that the national economic recovery program is on track," he explained at the Budget Committee Working Meeting with the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law, and Security, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, at Nusantara I Building, Senayan Parliamentary Complex, Jakarta on Monday (14/6/2021).
Furthermore, according to the politician from the Golkar Party faction, the national economic recovery is closely related to Covid-19 problems. Thus, Mukhtarudin hopes that the government will continuously improve the national vaccination program. On the other hand, public participation and awareness are also very important to participate in the vaccination program.
"Although recently there has been an increase (of Covid-19 cases, ed), maybe because of the last Eid al-Fitr period. But I think the government and the officials are very concerned and serious in handling this problem, and the national economic recovery can run well if we do not have problems regarding the health of the people," added the legislator from the Central Kalimantan constituency.
On the other hand, a Member of the House’ Budget Committee Cornelis emphasized all ministries to be able to arrange budgets as carefully as possible. According to the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle politician, amid the current economic crisis due to Covid-19, the ministry's average budget proposal rose above three to five percent of the indicative 2021 ceiling that had been determined.
"(In) 2020, our target was not achieved. In 2021, the budget that has not been used yet, was cut, to be refocused. Well, this is difficult, sir. So, if you arrange this budget, you have to take this crisis into account, do not arrange it as you arrange it before. So, the average increase and the increase is above 5 percent, above 3 percent," said the legislator for the West Kalimantan I constituency (bia/sf)
